Week 59: new companion & investigators + CARS

Sorry I didn't email last week! Tons has happened

Holy smokes the work is going incredible here in Bangkhen. I love my new companion he is seriously my best friend. His name is Elder Neal he's from West Jordan he's been out for about 4 months but he's already such a stud. We literally connect on everything, from cars to watches to skiing and snowboarding and basketball and football and everything. It's perfect and it makes the work so much better. Making your companion your best friend is so important for working in unity to bring souls unto Christ.

Our investigator pool is so awesome right now. We have 6 progressing investigators right now and they are all SOLID. 2 of them are Brother Sagon's kids! Brother Sagon is back to church and he got a calling it was incredible! And now he has also brought his wife back to church who also fell away with him almost 10 years ago, and they went to church as a family yesterday. It was perfect. He has 2 kids who aren't members, Dun and Dookdaa. 14 and 17 years old. We are super excited to keep working with them to have brother Sagon be able to baptize them! And then go to the temple to be sealed to them :)

Brother Golf is progressing so well. He got his answer that this church is true and his old church just didn't have the full truth he needed in his life. He will be getting baptized this Sunday along with sister Great. Sister Great's mom has also showed a little bit of interest so we are gonna go to their house and see what's up today. Her little sister also should get baptized soon but she is having some commandment problems.

Yesterday the power was out at the church for all day because they had to do something with the power source for the whole street. It was so dang hot. But during sacrament meeting it started raining way hard and all of the windows were open and the lights were off and there was like no sound at all except for the rain and idk it was just a sick experience.

Sorry this email is gonna be super short but the work here is just blowing up! The new mission president is such a good dude we are all excited to work with him. I love you all at home and its nuts to be seeing all of my friends home! I can honestly [say] I'm not jealous of you chumps I'm having the time of my life out here serving the Lord. :)

Alright bonus story that's not related to missionary work. It's about cars. Me and Elder Neal are both obsessive with cars and Top Gear and just everything. And anyways, last week I had to go to the hospital and right next to the hospital there is a couple insane car dealerships. There was a leadership training that we had to wait to be over so we thought on our way back to the office we would walk through these places and check out cars such as the Lamborghini Aventador, McClaren P1, Ferrari F12berlinetta and other million dollar cars of that sort. We were like crying with excitement. Anyways we go to the first place and talk the guy into letting us get up close and take a bunch of pics. That was sick. The second place we get to open the door to a Ferrari F430 and look inside and look at some price lists in case I wanted to special order a new Porsche (lol) the last place however was the only official Ferrari dealership in Thailand. Oh boy. So we walk over and we are just like yeah wanted to take a quick look check out a couple sick cars. And then they assign this guy to like give us a tour of all these different Ferraris. At this point I'm literally shaking because of my excitement. Me and Elder Neal kept cracking these huge ear to ear smiles at eachother the whole time. Anyways long story short the guy asked if we wanted to sit in a brand new 2015 Ferrari California T. OBVIOUSLY WE SAID YES. So he let us sit in and he was in the driver seat. Then after showing us all the beautiful interior he looks over at me and says, "Wanna go for a drive?" I politely accepted (lol) and he proceeded to show us the 0-60 time (under 3 and a half seconds) in the huge parking lot of the Ferrari dealership. Unreal. That was the best experience I've ever had with cars in my life. I can't believe it. Anyways ya. It was good to get back to work after that...
